CUET Entrance Exam 2022 Highlights

To be eligible to apply for the common aptitude test, you must satisfy certain criteria set by the exam conducting body.

The expected CUET Eligibility Criteria for the courses are enlisted below:

• All Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for the exam.
• For UG courses, you must have completed your calss1 2 with a minimum of 50% marks (for the general category), and it is 45% for SC/ST category.
• PG applicants belonging to the general category must have completed a bachelor’s degree with 55% aggregate marks. For SC, ST categories, the minimum percentage required is 50%.
• Ph.D. applicants who have qualified CSIR UGC NET (JRF), GATE, NBHM will have to mandatorily register for the exam.

CUET Application form 2023

The NTA will release the application window in online mode on the 2nd of April 2023. There is a common registration process for UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses.

You can follow the instructions given below while filling out the CUET Application Form 2023.

• The online window to register for the exam shall appear on the screen after clicking on the “click here to apply” button on the official website.
• Once you click on the “new register” button, the commonly asked registration fields such as name, mobile number, E-mail ID shall appear on the screen.
• Upon successful registration, you will receive the username and password to the registered mobile number and E-mail.
• You then have to fill in all mandatory fields like qualification details, communication details, parent’s details, exam center preferences, and category.
• The next step is to upload your photograph, signature, and other required documents as per the specifications given in the official notification.
• Select any three universities you wish to secure admission and thereafter, select any three courses in each university.
• Once selected, click on the “save & proceeded” button and preview the online form.
• Next, click on the “make payment” button and pay the application fee as per your category.

You can pay the application fee either online or offline mode. The application fee varies for different categories.

CUET Preparation Tips 2023

To crack the entrance exams like Common Universities Entrance Test, you would require a proper preparation strategy and a study plan.

Begin your NTA CUET preparation well in advance, as this will help you complete the syllabus on time, and you will also be left with ample time to revise all the topics at least once before the exam.

• For the quantitative section, revise all the concepts of standard 8th, 9th, and 10th mathematics as most of the questions might be asked from these topics.
• For English, improve your vocabulary by making a habit of reading the newspaper daily.
• Note down the difficult words and their meanings in a notebook and try to revise them regularly.

This Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This entrance test will be compulsory for all central universities. State universities and Private universities are also asked to consider these entrance test scores for admission to their undergraduate programs. This test is now going to be compulsory so this is the latest development that is going to happen.
This entrance test is very good from the student’s perspective because earlier students have to write many exams to get admission to different universities. But now there will be just one entrance test for all the universities.

– The basic eligibility to apply for the CUET test is that any student who has passed their 10 + 2 standards can write the CUET but however, the 10 + 2 standard marks may be used by different universities as an admission criterion. So, they will have a CUET score and the university may fix a certain percentage of marks in the 10 + 2 to be eligible to apply for admission in undergraduate programs based on the CUET score.
– The universities are autonomous organizations so they have left it to the universities to decide what should be the threshold marks in the 10 + 2 in order to be able to get admission in a university.

By this students will focus more on learning rather than just achieving the highest score in their 10 + 2 examinations.
– The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is scheduled to take place in the first week of July 2023.
– The application process for writing the CUET will be initiated by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the first week of April 2023.
– The application process will be available in online mode only.
– The CUET examination will be a computer-based test and it will be conducted in online mode only. The students do not have to have high proficiency in using the computers, just a basic knowledge of computers is enough to write the CUET examination.
– This examination is going to be conducted into 2 parts. Both the parts will be computer-based tests.
– The CUET examination will be conducted for the 42 central universities of India.
CUET/CUCET Exam Pattern 2023
– The CUET examination consists of 3 sections i.e. Section A is a Language test, Section B is a Domain-specific test, and Section C is a General Aptitude test.
– Section A consists of a language test. It is a compulsory test for all the aspirants, a student will have to take the exam of any one of the 13 languages which have been offered by the NTA. The 13 languages from which the student has to choose are English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
– Section B consists of a domain-specific test. In this test, candidates have to choose from 27 subjects of which a candidate is allowed to take a maximum of 6 domain subjects which he or she desires to pursue at their undergraduate level.
– The subjects include Accountancy, Biology, Computer Science, Business Studies, Economics, Legal studies, Home Science, Entrepreneurship, Physics, Chemistry, C++, Engineering Drawing, Physical Education, Sociology, Psychology, History, Geography, Political Science, Fine arts, Performing arts, and etc.
– ‘Section A’ is compulsory for all the candidates. He/She has to opt for one paper. In section B a candidate can take the test for the course he/she desires to pursue at the undergraduate level. A candidate can appear for as many as six domain tests. Also, there are universities/ higher education institutions that may offer courses for which a candidate need not have studied the subjects in school.
– Section C is divided into two subsections – the General test and the Language test. Subsection 1 will be a general aptitude test and Subsection 2 will be a language test. This section is an optional section.
– Subsection 2 is a language test. In this test, there will be 19 languages from which candidates have to choose one and from that language, questions will be asked. The languages are Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Nepali, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Tibetan, Bodo, Dogri, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithali, Manipuri, Santhali, and Sindhi.
– Section C is an optional section as there are many programs in universities, which will require only the scores of general aptitude. For example – Banaras Hindu University for some of its programs will offer admission based on the general test.

CUET Syllabus 2022
– The CUET examination is divided into 3 sections i.e. Section A – Language test, Section B – Domain-specific test, and section C – general aptitude test.
– For the CUET examination candidates have to study from their class 11th and class 12th books because the syllabus and level of the questions are the same as of your class 11th and class 12th.
Syllabus of Section A (Language Test)
The questions in this section will test one’s proficiency in the language, based on comprehension passages, fundamentals of grammar, and vocabulary. In the Comprehension section, candidates will be evaluated on their understanding of a passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc. The Grammar section entails correcting grammatically incorrect sentences, filling blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc. Questions on synonyms & antonyms will check one’s command over English vocabulary.
